As promised, Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night to unveil Gears of War 3 to the world. And as expected, the game is scheduled to be released next April, April 5 to be exact. With a Japanese release following on the 7th and an April 8th release in Europe.
While April 2011 is a long way away, CliffyB gave Fallon (and gamers everywhere) something to get excited about, the game's first trailer. Titled "Ashes to Ashes", it continues Epic's streak of absolutely gorgeous teasers for the Gears of War series and you can check it out right here:
УWhen we released СGears of War' more than three years ago, we set out to tell the world an unforgettable story of bravery and sacrifice in the face of insurmountable odds, and a year from now, players will get the chance to experience the final chapter in the story of Marcus Fenix and his companions in Delta Squad,Ф said Cliff Bleszinski, design director at Epic Games. УThis is definitely the biggest and most dramatic chapter yet in the СGears of War' saga, and we can't wait to deliver it.Ф
And just this morning, Bleszinski has used his Twitter account to reveal that the Gears of War 3 campaign will be able to be played with four players over an online co-op mode. Too cool.
We'll have more on the biggest Xbox 360 exclusive of 2011 soon.
