News: And unveils a new video starring Halo: Reach voice actress Aisha Tyler.
The Halo: Reach beta begins in four short days and Bungie plans to give the new game types a healthy workout. The online test will run from May 3 through May 19 and Bungie plans to turn on different game types as the beta goes on:
May 3
Arena Mode (4v4 ranked Team Slayer games)
"Free-for-All" and "Grab Bag" playlists, which include a mix of classic and brand new game types
May 7
Spartan vs. Elite "Invasion" playlist
May 14
"Generator Defense" game type
If four days is too long to wait, Bungie has a treat for Halo 3: ODST owners. The developer has released a new video today introducing the new game modes found in Halo: Reach. The video is hosted by actress (and real-life giant nerd) Aisha Tyler. In addition to her hosting duties, she offers her own tips and insider hints for each map.
Once the beta begins, players will be able to show off their participation in the test through their Xbox Avatar. Everyone who logs in and plays at least one full game of any type in the beta will receive a free Halo: Reach Avatar hoodie via the Halo Waypoint portal on Xbox Live.
We'll have more soon. And in case you missed it, be sure to read up on Bungie's new 10-year publsihing agreement with Activision.
