News: Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Normally out-of-touch industry analyst Michael Pachter was a guest on this week's episode of the GameTrailers Bonus Round show where the panel talked about Sony's E3 presence.

After talking about possible sequels, the conversation shifted to the Move and in a segment titled "Pachter on the Move" (which begins at 4:30), the Pach Attack dropped this little nugget:

"I think that unfortunately Sony really does have good first party content, non-Move first party content, like Jaffe's Twisted Metal 2 game."

Host Geoff Keighley then whispered, "That's unannounced," while Pachter attempted to backpedal: "Well, whatever it's going to be called. Sorry Jaffe."

As the panel, which included Andy McNamara of Game Informer and Jeff Gertsmann of Giant Bomb, began to laugh, Pachter turned around and appeared to admit he knows more than he's letting on:

"Jaffe called me his bitch the last time I saw him, so bitch that Jaffe."

Did Michael Pachter just make David Jaffe his bitch? Or did the industry's favorite analyst knowingly say something that he knew would be controversial just to stir up the fanboys?

Pachter's opinions on the game industry may be pulled out of thin air, but when it comes to facts the man has quite an extensive network of contacts. I'll guess we'll find out for sure at E3, but it's looking more and more likely that a new Twisted Metal title will be announced during the industry's biggest showcase.

The entire episode of Bonus Round can be viewed right here:
