News: Here come the delays...

In 2009, dozens of games with a Fall release date wound up being delayed into early 2010. As Fall 2010 nears, the cycle of delayed games appears to be repeating itself again as Sony has announced that SOCOM 4 will miss it's Fall 2010 release date. The game will now be released sometime in 2011.

Here's what The SOCOM 4 Team (at Zipper Interactive) had to say about the delay on the SOCOM Blog:

While we're certainly aware that you've been looking forward to playing SOCOM 4 this year, we don't want to take any shortcuts. Instead, we want to deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can and we're going to use our extra time to do just that.

SOCOM 4 had been touted as one of the PlayStation Move's premiere launch titles. It looks like gamers will have to get their fill of shooting action with the Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition instead.

We'll have more soon.
