News: Along with a 12-pack of exclusive Silly Bandz.
Zoo Games has announced they plan to release Silly Bandz: The Game for the DS this December. You've heard of Silly Bandz haven't you? If you know a child under ten you likely saw the headline and ran screaming from the room. But if not, what they basically boil down to are character-shaped rubberbands that kids are going absolutely nuts over. And now they're getting a game.
So how does Silly Bandz: The Game work? The title tasks players with rescuing captive Silly Bnadz by activating the superpowers of the Bandz in their collection. These powers include cage-rattling moves like "multiplying themselves or exploding in air." Once they rescue a Silly Band, players will be able to add it to their collection and use it in the next battle. All told, the game will include 200 Silly Bandz in 40 levels spread out over four worlds (outdoor, marine, party and fantasy).
The game also includes a local multiplayer mode, but I believe the biggest draw to Silly Bandz: The Game will be the 12-exclusive Silly Bandz bracelets that will be bundled with it. These Bandz feature video game-themed shapes such as a joystick, arcade machine, pinball shapes and a game controller. Aside from the controller, ask your resident ten year old if they have any idea what a joystick or a pinball machine is.
"As one of the year's biggest pop culture phenomena, we're excited to be creating a Silly Bandz experience that brings the fun to life on the Nintendo DS," said Mark Seremet, Zoo Games CEO. "The exclusive video game themed Silly Bandz bundled with the title help to make Silly Bandz a perfect fit for all the handheld gamers on your holiday list."
All I have to say is that now I'm bummed someone never made
