News: Dante cries one more time. This time over his brother. Oh yeah, it's a real soap opera.

Even though many fans were diappointed in Devil May Cry 2, no one really went so far as to say that it was a bad game. But thankfully that hasn't detered Capcom as Dante will make not one, but two appearances in games this year. First is his role in the PS2 port of Viewtiful Joe and then starring in his own game, Devil May Cry 3.

The third Devil is actually a prequel to the first game, telling the story of the battle between Dante and his twin brother Virgil. It seems Dante chose to use his demon abilities to helpаpeople and protectаthe world from danger.Virgil, on the other hand, аhas been corrupted by his powers and only wants to rain death and destruction down upon the Earth.

A first for Devil May Cry will be the "Style" system that will allow you to customize Dante's fighting style to something that is unique for every player. By mixing and matching one of four different base styles (short-range, long-range, defensive or evasive), everyone will be able to come up with a style that is distinctly their own but still distinctly Dante. Capcom sent along a features list as well, so if you want, here it is:

Devil May Cry 3 includes the following features:

  • Unrelenting, hard-core gothic action

  • Fresh new character design Ц Dante appears younger, but still has his stylish swagger and rock star good looks

  • Huge arsenal of weapons - Handguns, powerful shotguns, tricked out guitars and much more

  • Combo system - Equip Dante with up to four different weapons that can be swapped at anytime, allowing the freedom to develop a range of fighting moves and combinations

  • Customize Dante's fighting style
o Evasive style which allows Dante to deftly dodge enemy attacks with speed and finesse
o Close-range specialty maximizes the impact of up close attacks with the blade
o Long-range style that lets Dante blow away enemies with his fire arms
o Counter attack and guard expertise against strong enemy power

  • Enhanced graphics - Fully textured rich backgrounds utilizing 3D polygons as well as real time rendering for in game cut scenes and intro movie

  • Multitude of demonic enemies - More ferocious than ever before with powerful weapons, the ability to transform and fly and other challenging surprises

  • Obtain orbs throughout the game to purchase new weapons, fighting techniques, increase strength and more

  • Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II support

  • Hidden weapons, items, characters, difficulty levels and more

Devil May Cry 3 is scheduled to ship late in 2004 and we'll have a report from Capcom press conference with more on Devil May Cry 3 and all of their upcoming titles later today.
