News: Except it's not called the PStwo, it's called the PS2. This could get confusing.
Surprising no one, Sony revealed theаPStwo and announced that it will be available in stores October 14 for a retail price of $149.99.
The slimmer system doesn't actually go by the PStwo moniker, it's referred to as "the new" PlayStation 2 in the press materials, but it is considerably smaller than the original PS2.аAccording to Sony, the new PS2 weighsаhalf as much as the original and the thicknessаof the systemаhas been cut by 5 cmаto 2.8 cm. A built in Ethernet port has also been added to the system.
But alas, four controller ports were once again left off the design. At this point you really have to ask, is Sony just ignoring what the public wants?
Some good pictures of the new system (including a side by side comparison) can be found at EBGames.com.
