News: The popular independent PC game has been ported to the new Xbox Live Arcade.
Mutant Storm, a popular independant PC game orginally released in 2002 by PomPom Software has now found it's way to the new Xbox Live Arcade. It was awarded the "Best Shareware of 2002" award from The Adrenaline Vault.
The Xbox Live Arcade is Microsoft's new system of bringing simple, but addictive, games to Xbox Live users. Mutant Storm is available for download now for $19.99.
Similar to classics like Smash TV and RoboTron, Mutant Storm places you in 89 alien infested rooms that force you to use the Xbox's dual sticks to move and shoot anything that comes after you.
With this release, the Xbox Live Arcade is proving to be very similar to Valve's Steam service for the PC in that it can bring formerly unknow indie games to the masses with an easy download. I can't wait to see what else has been hiding out there in indie-land.
"This is timely recognition of a previously unsung classic from one of the UK's most innovative development teams. It demonstrates that small imaginative groups can still compete with the leviathans of the games business," said John Cook an agent for Bad Management.
If you look to your right you'll see that we also have four screens from the game.
