News: World Tour Soccer 2006 has been announced for the spring.
Sony and 989 Sports have announced that the latest edition of World Tour Soccer is on track for a Spring 2005 release.
In addition to standard soccer game modes like Exhibition, Season, Career and Challenge Mode, World Tour Soccer 2006 will include EyeToy functionality to map a player's face into the game. After your picture is uploaded into the game, a new process Sony calls Digimask will render your face into a 3D model suitable for the game.
Numbers play a huge role in World Tour Soccer 2006 as well as Sony boasts the game will feature 935 international and club teams from around the globe, 19,000 FIFPro licensed players from 32 different leagues, 8 international tournaments and 28 unique stadiums.
Rounding out the news, Sony's press release adds: Additionally, World Tour Soccer 2006 offers hard-core soccer enthusiasts a Competition Mode, in which players can create their own Custom Cup or Custom League to their exact specifications, all while highlighting their own Custom Team. With successful play, gamers will be able to unlock hidden teams, stadiums, and cheats to help fill up their trophy cabinet with any of the 49 available trophies.
