News: New info on Bomberman DS and Bomberman takes up sports on the PS2.
Ubisoft announced today that they have signed an agreement with Hudson Soft that will allow them to publish Bomberman DS in the US and Europe. Continuing on a bombing run of news, Bomberman Hardball will be coming to the PS2 in the Spring.
Bomberman DS will place the action on both screens for a huge play area and will use the microphone to control the battle. As with any Bomberman title, multiplayer will be an essential part of the game with an 8 player LAN option. Look for Bomberman DS this Summer.
Meanwhile, like many other mascots, Bomberman finally turns to sports. Bomberman Hardball for the PS2 will combine baseball, tennis and golf modes (take that Mario!) in addition to the basic Bomberman battle mode. Bomberman Hardball will also use the PS2's clock to monitor your Bomberman in a day-to-day virtual pet way.
"With this agreement, players will be able to relive the epic Bomberman experience with the latest technology provided by the PS2 and the unique features of the Nintendo DS handheld console," said Yves Guillemot, President and CEO of Ubisoft. "We're excited to bring Ubisoft's publishing expertise to the continuing legacy of Bomberman's adventures."
