News: A new Castlevania is announced for the PS2 and we have 11 new Castlevania DS screens.
Castlevania has always been about the battle between Dracula and the Belmont clan, until today. Today, Konami has announced Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, a new chapter in the Castlevania mythos.
Curse of Darkness stars Hecotr, a former Devil Forgermaster for Dracula. After Hector left Dracula's employ, the Belmonts stormed the castle and dusted the vampire master. Years later, Isaac, another Devil Forgemaster, blames Hector for his death. Isaac frames Hector's wife for witchcraft and takes up residence in Castle Dracula. Hector sets out for the castle for revenge.
While most of Hector's is unknown, his Devil Forgery skills will come in handy. Devil Forgery is the art of creating "Innocent Devils", beings that can use their dark powers to help their master overcome certain tasks. Essentially, these two wizards were behind Dracula's undead army all along.
Curse of Darkness will be a long third person quest that Konami says will allow players to build experience points similar to the great Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
"Castlevania: Curse of Darkness takes the series in a fresh new direction Ц complete with new heroes and villains," says Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of Product Management of Konami of Europe. "The conflict between Hector and Isaac will allow players to explore Dracula's inner sanctum from a different perspective and provide fans of the Castlevania series plenty of new gameplay experiences to enjoy."
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is scheduled to ship in Fall 2005 and here are the first six screens.
And for Castlevania fans who can't wiat to sink their teeth into the DS, here are 11 new screens of Castlevania DS.
We'll have more on both very soon.
