News: Aeon Flux and BloodRayne together at last.
Today, Majesco announced they have added Aeon Flux to their stable of ass-kickin' female action heroes. Appropriately enough, Aeon Flux will be developed by Terminal Reality, the team behind the BloodRayne series.
As any fan of MTV's Liquid Television can tell you, Aeon Flux is a mercenary from a future where disease has ravaged the population. All that remains is one walled city and a resistance group known as the Monican rebellion.
Majesco has said Aeon Flux the game will tie together the popular animated series and the upcoming movie starring Charlize Theron. Both the movie and the game (for the PS2 and Xbox) will be released in the fall. Theron has also agreed to supply her likeness and provide voicework for the game. It's unknown if the rest of the cast (Marton Csokas, Frances McDormand, Sophie Okonedo, Jonny Lee Miller, and Pete Postlethwaite) will have any part in the game.
"We are excited to be partnering with MTV and Terminal Reality on such an encompassing project as Aeon Flux," said Jesse Sutton president of Majesco. "By including the voice talent and likeness of Charlize Theron, we hope to provide consumers with a product that seamlessly fits within the world of Aeon Flux yet offers an interactive component that complements its entertainment counterparts."
Little details were released about the game, except this plot synopsis: "When Aeon is sent on a mission to kill a government leader, she uncovers a world of secrets." It's also unknown if Aeon will catch a fly in her eyelash, probably the most iconic image from the whole series.
