News: Next Tales game coming to the PS2 early next year.
After several years in development, Namco has announced that the next Tales game, Tales of Legendia, will be coming to the PS2 early next year.
Legendia stars Senel Coolidge and his sister Shirley. Lost at sea in a tiny boat with no food or water, they thought they would surely die. Instead, a massive boat called the Legacy crashed into them and they climbed on board. No ordinary ship, the Legacy is also a large island with trees and vegetation and, if RPG history has taught us anything, lots of monsters to fight.
Tales of Legendia will feature a new battle system called X-LiMBS (Crossover Linear Motion Battle System), which Namco has said will make the combat feel more like a fighting game and less like a traditional RPG.
Featuring character design by Kazuto Nakazawa, the animator behind the "Origin of O-Ren" sequence in Kill Bill Volume 1, Namco hopes Legendia will stand as much on it's style as it does on it's story.
