News: TOCA Race Driver 2006 details and screenshots.
Codemasters has always prided themselves on the depths of realism that the TOCA Race Driver series is able to achieve. And with TOCA Race Driver 2006 coming in early 2006 for the PS2, Xbox and PC they plan to do it again.
The 2006 edition will feature several leaps above previous editions. They will unveil the next generation of their handling engine in TOCA 2006 along with the always excellent full car damage modeling and the enhanced human AI system.
They have also tweaked the audio once more by promising "40 times the audio assets compared to TOCA 2". They've also promised that the graphics will move at a crisp 60 FPS and feature up to 21 cars on screen at once.
But these are really all just nice words at this point. Featureswise, TOCA 2006 will feature a Pro Career mode with "detailed race rules and regulations" for GT, Off Road, Touring Cars, Historic, Open Wheel, Rally and Oval.
Car customization and tuning will also play a big part in the game. Naturally, online modes will be included as well.
