News: Namco confirms Ace Combat Zero for North America and gives out a few more details
Ace Conbat Zero: The Belkan War was announcemed for the PS2 at TGS last week and should be out in Japan fairly soon. Now Namco has revealed that the game will be coming to North America sometime next year.
Ace Combat Zero takes place 15 years before Ace Combat 5 and will fill in storyline gaps between the two games.
The biggest change to Ace Combat Zero will be the introduction of "Rival Pilots". Rival Pilots will feature advanced AI as they barrel roll, dogfight and blast away at your plane while commanding a rival squadron. The Rival Pilots will follow you throughout the game providing many chances at a major air battle.
"Players can once again be ace pilots in Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War by flying authentic aircraft against rival pilots that are more cunning than ever," said Yoshi Niki, Business Unit Director at Namco Hometek Inc. "The game's storyline will add insight into some of the series' greatest mysteries and the new gameplay elements will keep players strapped into their virtual cockpits for hours."
Still no official word on Xenosaga III yet though.
