News: First info and screens for the "Touch" mode.

Nintendo has lifted the curtain on a little more Tetris DS info today and even this little bit is enough to make me jump up and down.

We already know that each of the six game modes will feature a theme based on a famous Nintendo character. But now we know that regular Tetris, known as Standard Mode here, will feature the Super Mario Bros. theme.

But the big news in today's update is the revelation of Touch Mode. In Nintendo's own words "Touch Mode is [a] unique take on Tetris [that] really shows off the touch-screen capability of Nintendo DS. Players use a stylus to drag and move Tetriminos in a giant stack to make them fall into horizontal lines. In early levels, they can tap Tetriminos to spin them just the way they need them. Players have as much time as they need to carefully plan their moves, so it plays very differently from the other frantic modes."

We also have the first seven screenshots of Touch Mode right here. Don't ask me what famous Nintendo theme that's supposed to be though.

OK, that's all for now. We'll have more on Tetris DS soon.
