News: And reveals a little more about Mortal Kombat: Unchained.
After being revealed in Game Informer six weeks ago, Midway has officially announced Mortal Kombat: Armageddon for this fall.
Most of what Midway said about the final MK of the current generation was stuff we already know. But they did manage to include one little tidbit of interesting info: Armageddon will include a Create-A-Fatality mode. Toasty!
"As the final chapter of Mortal Kombat on current generation gaming platforms, we're eager to raise the bar for the fighting genre yet again with Mortal Kombat: Armageddon," said Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. "Building off of the tremendous successes of Mortal Kombat: Deception in October 2004 and Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks in September 2005, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon introduces the most comprehensive cast of playable characters from every Mortal Kombat title, both past and present, in addition to the first create-a-fighter mode in franchise history."
Midway also released a little bit more information about the first PSP entry in the series, Mortal Kombat: Unchained. It seems that Unchained will feature six new characters (no word on if they'll show up in Armageddon too), an Endurance Mode, Deception-like multi-tiered arenas and Wi-Fi modes.
We'll have more on the ultimate Mortal Kombat battle royale soon.
