News: Free Radical gets an offer they can't refuse as EA now owns publishing rights to the TimeSplitters.
EA and Free Radical have announced that they have reached a worldwide publishing agreement for the next game in the TimeSplitters series. Formerly published by Eidos Interactive, the multi-platform series is viewed by nearly everyone as one of the top console First Person Shooters.
"Free Radical has proven itself as a world-class studio by delivering consistently beautiful, exciting and incredibly fun games," said Frank Sagnier, Vice-president Electronic Arts Partners in Europe. "We are thrilled to be working with Free Radical and to be adding a new title to our growing catalogue of externally developed games."
The unnamed third game has yet to be officially announced and at this point we have no idea which of the three consoles it will release for. Although Free Radical has said they are hard at work on the game and that it "will take the [TimeSplitters] experience further with improved gameplay, unprecedented graphics, all new story and online play." The game is tentatively scheduled for a 2005 release.
