News: Konami reveals the first details of the second Castlevania game for the DS.

We know it was coming, but now we know some official information as Konami announced Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin for the DS this morning. The latest battle against Dracula will begin this November.

Portrait of Ruin zaps the storyline to World War II, where a pair of vampire sisters are working to resurrect Dracula with the help of wandering souls that are drawn to the castle like a Hellmouth. Two unlikely allies, vampire hunter Jonathan Morris and teen witch Charlotte Orlean, are drawn together to fight this army.

Portrait of Ruin, like all portable Castlevanias, will be a traditional side-scroller. Players will be able to switch between the characters at any time to use each one's unique abilites. Each character will also be able to Summon demons from the ground to help with the fight.

There was no mention of touch screen modes, but I'm sure we'll learn that (and more) about Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin soon.
