News: Vampiiiiirrrrres! In Spaaaaace!
Konami has announced they are bringing Boktai DS stateside along with plans that the series is going to get switched up.
First and foremost, the light sensor that was embedded in the GBA cartridges, and only allowed players to play when it was fully "charged", is gone. It has been replaced by an "artificial sun" that lives in the top screen of the DS.
The other major change is that the series will no longer be known as Boktai. It will feel the same, but Konami is bringing the game to America under the title Lunar Knights.
"Kojima Productions has combined fast-paced action with groundbreaking real-time environment effects to create Lunar Knights, an original action role-playing game for the Nintendo DS," said Colin Ferris, Associate Product Manager with Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "With its innovative day and night cycle, two playable characters and extensive touch screen support, the game takes full advantage of the Nintendo DS's unique features to deliver one of the most immersive and entertaining experiences available on any system."
The move to the DS has also allowed Kojima and company to add 3D space shooter sections that our titular heroes must navigate to send the remains of the Space Vampires into the sun.
Space Vampires. Awesome.
Lunar Knights is scheduled to ship late this year. We'll have more soon.
