News: The Sonic Mega Collection is making the jump to the PS2 and the Xbox with even more bonus goodies.

Sega has announced they are bringing the Sonic Mega Collection to the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in an enhanced form known as Sonic Mega Collection Plus. The game will ship on November 2 and retail for the bargain price of $20.

Sonic Mega Collection Plus will include every title that was in the GameCube version:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 3
  • Sonic and Knuckles
  • Sonic 3D Blast
  • Sonic Spinball
  • Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with Knuckles
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 3 with Knuckles
  • Blue Sphere
  • Flicky
  • Ristar

Sega will also include two extra games that were only available on the Japanese release:

  • Comix Zone
  • The Ooze

And to top it all off, six of Sonic's Game Gear adventures will also make their way onto this disc:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Sonic Blast
  • Sonic Chaos
  • Sonic Drift
  • Sonic Labyrinth
  • Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

The bonus features appear to be the same compliment of artwork, comics and videos that were on the GameCube, but who knows, Sega may have something else up their sleeve. Personally, I think the inclusion of Comix Zone, a forgotten Sega classic, might just be worth the double dip even for those that already own the GameCube edition.
