News: The Prince will hack and slash again.
1up is reporting Ubisoft has confirmed that Prince of Persia is in development for the Wii.
The game was rumored to be in development last week when it was included in European version of Ubi's Wii press release. Ubisoft originally denied it, but 1up got them to tell the truth.
Here's the key quote from Ubisoft's people:
"A game based on the popular Prince of Persia franchise is one of many titles Ubisoft has in development for Nintendo's Wii. At this time we can not provide an official date for the game or any additional information about it."
I guess that settles that. But for now, the Prince's existence is all we know as Ubisoft hasn't announced a release date or indicated whether it would be an original game or a port of an exisiting PoP game.
