News: Uh oh, here come the Brain Age clones.
Majesco has announced they will be working with Dr. Makoto Shichida, the creator of the Right Brain Development Theory, on a set of "brain stimulation" games for the DS. Titled Brain Boost: Beta Wave and Brain Boost: Gamma Wave, the two games will arrive this November for the budget price of $20 each.
Like Brain Age, the Brain Boost titles will attempt to improve your brain power through a series of exercises that test memory, concentration and snap judgments.
The games will be separated by the types of exercises that they contain. Beta Boost features the mini-games "Find a Match", "Shape Recognition", "Addition", "Remember Sequence" and "Moving Dots" which are said to focus on the brain activities "active concentration and busy thinking".
On the other hand the activities in Gamma Wave are based around improving "higher mental activity, including perception and problem solving". To do this, gamers will be asked to master the mini-games "Circumstances", "Faces", "Images", and "Numbers and Colors".
"Each Brain Boost game offers a completely different set of fun, yet challenging, brain training problems that are designed to enhance your mental acuity," said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing, Majesco Entertainment. "We believe a growing number of consumers are looking for more diversified game play experiences and the Brain Boost games will help attract a new audience to the category."
We'll have more on both Brain Boosts soon.
