News: Say goodbye to the makers of Okami, Viewtiful Joe and God Hand.
Capcom has announced they will close Clover Studio (the creators of Viewtiful Joe, Okami and God Hand) in March 2007. According to the company, while Clover Studio's games were unique and creative, they just weren't bringing in the bucks.
Here's the official word from Capcom:
"Clover Studio Co., Ltd. has met the goal of developing unique and creative original home video game software, however, in view of promoting a business strategy that concentrates management resources on a selected business to enhance the efficiency of the development power of the entire Capcom group, the dissolution of Clover Studio Co., Ltd. has been raised and passed at a Board of Directors' meeting."
Clover Studio's newest game, God Hand, was released last week and Okami, a frontrunner for Game of the Year, was released in September.
