News: The Hurricanes star joins a long list of all-star coverboys.
EA has announced that Eric Staal, the center for the Carolina Hurricanes, will be gracing the cover of NHL 08 for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this fall.
"I am a huge fan of the NHL franchise and played NHL 07 fanatically," said Staal. "I am honored to be named to the EA Sports family and the NHL 08 team."
Once again, EA is touting an evolution in their Skill Stick System for NHL 08. They've also promised the game will feature an "all-new deking system [that] enables you to move the puck off your stick, walk around a defender and give you space in front to challenge the goalie." There will also be "enhanced analog speed control and a new skating engine [to] give you the precision and fluidity to play like you would on the ice."
