News: First, they brought gamerpics and themes. Then, they brought a game. Soon, they will own Xbox Live.
The September 2007 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly has an interesting little feature detailing some little known licensed games that will released this year. Most of it we already know about: the Aqua Teen Hunger Force golf game, the Napoleon Dynamite game, the Jackass game and the Penny Arcade game for the Xbox Live Arcade... wait! Say what?
Yes, according to EGM, Penny Arcade Adventures Episode One: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade this fall.
Developer Hothead Games has always discussed console renditions of the currently PC-only adventure as a possibility "someday," but this would be the first confirmation that the game actually will make an appearance on one of the new-generation consoles.
With the Penny Arcade Expo less than three weeks away, it's entirely possible Mike "Gabe" Krahulik and Jerry "Tycho" Holkins were waiting until their big show to make the reveal.
We've contacted the appropriate people and hopefully we'll have official word one way or another soon.
UPDATE: The developers have confirmed they are looking into making the game for one or all of the next-gen systems, but nothing is official just yet. Looks like EGM jumped the gun on this one.
