Majesco to publish Nanostray 2 @ Gaming Target

News: DS shooter sequel finally has a publisher.

Majesco, the publisher of 2005's Nanostray, has announced they've hooked up developer Shin'in again to publish Nanostray 2. The DS space shooter is currently on track for an early 2008 release.

Shin'in is attempting to fix the flaws that many gamers felt were present in the original Nanostray including adding more game modes and two-player co-op. The first game's touch screen control weapon selection will also be replaced with three new control options: no touchscreen, right handed touch screen and left handed touch screen. More variety in level design will also be present as Nanostray 2 will feature both vertical and horizontal scrolling levels.

The new game modes will include:

Adventure: Unravel the story behind the mysterious Nanostray virus while experiencing beautiful cutscenes, extensive voice acting and new special effects

Arcade: Play through all Adventure Mode levels without the story. Added combos and extra statistics enable maximum high scores each time you play.

Challenge: Master 32 challenges, each located in a unique environment. Complete a set of 8 challenges to unlock one of the four Simulator games.

Simulator: Designed in a unique futuristic style, each game is a completely new experience of arcade-style, high score hunting.

Two Player Cooperative play (multi-card)

Two Player Duel (single and multi-card)

A new online leaderboard (dubbed the N2 Championship) will be available for those attempting to beat the best in Nanostray 2.
