News: Will Wright spills the beans.
Will Wright recently spoke with the U.K. newspaper The Guardian and while a lot of digital ink has been spilled over his belief that "the Wii is the only next-gen console," it's his announcement that Spore is coming to Nintendo's console that is the big news.
Here's the important part of the interview, which originally was a question about what games Will Wright plays at home:
Guardian: So what set-up do you have at home?
Will Wright: We've got an Xbox 360 collecting dust in the background, a Wii hooked up that we use quite a bit. I don't have a PS3. I still, for the most part, prefer playing games on the computer Ц to me the mouse is the best input device ever.

We're doing Spore on the Wii, and we did MySims. It takes signifcant re-thinking to work out how you're going to do it. PS3 and Xbox 360 are similar enough that you can basically use the same system for both. So it comes down to what the interesting major platforms are and which markets we want to hit.
Wright has long hinted that Spore was coming to the Wii (the first rumblings were at E3 2006 before the Wii had even been released), but this marks the first time he has come right out and said it.
Wright previously confirmed the game would be coming to the DS as well.
We'll have more on Spore soon.
