News: We double check Surfer Girl's work on her latest rumors: Spore, Driver 5, Skate Two and console Crysis.

Surfer Girl has built a reputation as the go-to mole for all of the latest juicy game gossip. Like many in the video game community, we have no idea who Surfer Girl is or how she has connections to every company in existence. The idea that some random blogger is being fed all of this previously unknown information is ridiculous.

Because of that, we believe most of Surfer Girl's "scoops" are nothing more than underreported old news or obvious guesses and starting today we will be examining her posts with our opinions on whether they are old news, obvious guesses or might possibly have a kernel of truth to them.

So here we go with our review of her post "November twentieth things."

Surfer Girl says: "Crysis is coming to PS360, but not until Q3 of EA's fiscal 09 [October-December]."

Our verdict: Obvious guess. Crytek has talked about a console version of Crysis before and there was a year between Far Cry's PC and Xbox releases as well.

Surfer Girl says: "Also coming to PS360 next September is skate two., which, as previously mentioned, takes place outside of San Vanelona."

Our verdict: Obvious guess. EA loves sequels and the Skate team has already discussed plans for future games in an EGM interview.

Surfer Girl says: "Also coming next fall is the Wii version of Spore from EA Montreal, which be the first home console version of the title to see release. The Wii version feature an online mode for content sharing akin to that found in the original version and the possibility of online gameplay for the Wii version is being looked into. The DS version of Spore (which Jenova Chen was working on prior to joining thatgamecompany), seeing release alongside the original version in April, will support the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for gameplay."

Our verdict: Old news. Will Wright revealed Spore for the Wii in October. Online play is not exactly a surprise either as Wright has always said online is an integral part of the Spore experience. Why wouldn't the Wii version have it?

Surfer Girl says: "Driver 5 (working title) is not exclusive to the PS3 (nor was such ever the case), it will be hitting PC and 360 as well sometime next year."

Our verdict: Obvious guess. Driver 5's status as a PS3 exclusive title stems from it's inclusion on a list of confirmed PS3 titles from TGS 2005. Since it's being published by Ubisoft, everyone assumed an Xbox 360 and PC version would be revealed when the game was officially announced.

The Scorecard: 3 Obvious Guesses and 1 bit of Old News.
