News: Surfer Girl lets it all hang out about Duke Nukem Forever and The Sims 3.
Surfer Girl has posted another batch of "rumors" and we will continue our mission to double check her work and uncover the truth about her supposed scoops.
An entry posted just before Thanksgiving titled
November twenty-first things. reveals the following rumors:
Surfer Girl says: "Yes, Duke Nukem Forever is still coming out in fall 2008, for PS360 and computing machines. It is even coming out before that supposedly-existent Sadness game."
Our verdict: Obvious guess. Duke Nukem Forever has become the stnadard-bearer of the Brooklyn Dodgers old rallying cry of "Wait 'til next year!" We've been hearing that it's just one year away for nearly ten years now.
Console versions have always been talked about as well, depending upon which consoles are in vogue. Once upon a time, DNF was coming to the PS2, Xbox and GameCube. Now, it's coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3. Ah, the circle of vaporware continues.
Surfer Girl says: "When is The Sims 3 coming out? Currently scheduled for February 2009 around the ninth anniversary of the release of The Sims."
Our verdict: Old news.
EA revealed a 2008-2009 release date for The Sims 3 during a conference call in November of last year.
The Scorecard (Today): 1 Obvious Guess and 1 bit of Old News.
The Scorecard (Overall): 4 Obvious Guesses and 2 bits of Old News.
