News: Valve's Director of Marketing assures us Half-Life will continue.
After the huge success of The Orange Box, we know Valve is hard at work on Half-Life 2: Episode Three, but according to StuffWeLike.com, Valve's Director of Marketing Doug Lombardi confirmed the existence of Half-Life 3 in a recent interview. Here's the important part of that interview:
Stuff We Like: Are there any current plans after Episode 3 to have a Half Life 3?
Dave Lombardi: We haven't announced anything specific, but Half-Life won't end at Episode Three Ц hang on to your crowbars!
While that's all well and good, an interview with Valve's Gabe Newell in the April 2006 issue of PC Gamer confirmed that Half-Life 2: Episode Four is also in development. So while more Half-Life is definitely coming, it may not be Half-Life 3 just yet (but Valve would be crazy to cap their bestselling series at two, so I'm sure a game titled "Half-Life 3" will appear someday).
Thanks to Evil Avatar for the heads up on this.
