News: At least, the New York Times says so.
The Everybody's Nintendo Channel, which is packed full of videos and DS game demos, was launched in Japan in November. Nintendo has yet to reveal a launch date for this highly anticipated service in America, but they have assured us it is coming. And according to a New York Times interview with Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, it might be better than we expected.
According to the article in the New York Times, the Everybody's Nintendo Channel will eventually include "complete" DS game downloads. The newspaper did not go into specifics about what the word complete means, but we can make a few guesses and they include full DS games, classic Game Boy, GBC or GBA games or portable Virtual Console games.
The relevant quote from the article is this one:
Mr. Fils-Aime said that future DS device will be more tightly integrated with its Wii console. Complete games as well as game samplers will be able to be downloaded into the Wii using its broadband connection, and then transferred wirelessly to the DS.
The article also revealed that this February's
Professor Layton and the Curious Village will be become the first DS game to receive an "update" through the Wii as additional puzzles for the game will be released on Everybody's Nintendo Channel sometime in the future.
We'll have more on the Wii, the DS and all the amazing things they can do together very soon.
