News: Another one bites the dust...
The news page at GameTap is reporting that EA and Marvel have dissolved their licensing partnership. This divorce also means the untitled Marvel Fighting Game that EA Chicago was developing for the Xbox 360 and PS3 is dead.
According to the article, an Electronic Arts spokesman had this to say, "EA and Marvel have jointly agreed to discontinue development of the Marvel titles under the EA Games Label. This was a business decision based on EA's portfolio strategy."
The article ended with a rather cryptic statement from Marvel that this news "will not affect Marvel's ongoing plans to release fighting games based on the Marvel properties in the future."
