News: More city simming on Nintendo's duo.

EA has announced that another exclusive SimCity game will be coming to the DS and Wii this September. SimCity Creator will bring the series back to its roots and put the Sims back in their cities. The game will allow players to build their own city by zoning land, constructing buildings, laying train tracks and erecting buildings. Cities can also be "themed" with styles based on American, European and Asian architecture. EA has said ten other themes will be revealed in the future. Cities can be further customized with "Hero" buildings that can be unlocked.

The gameplay actually sounds very similar to the version of SimCity for the Super NES, and that was one of the best versions of the original SimCity on any platform. New to SimCity Creator are control styles specifically built for the Wii Remote and DS stylus.

Speaking of the DS version, SimCity Creator for the DS will take prospective mayors through history as their city must grow and evolve "starting [from] ancient times, the middle ages, modern times, present day and the future."

УSimCity Creator for the Wii and Nintendo DS brings two separate, delightful new ways to create, enjoy and destroy your own cities,Ф said Rod Humble, Head of Studio for The Sims Label. УOn the Wii, for the first time in the SimCity franchise, you will have the ability to build curved roads and differently shaped zones allowing you to make more authentic places all utilizing the motions of the Wii remote. Employing the new city advisor system, you will be able to make the game as complex or simple as you want. On Nintendo DS, we will give you the ability to make a city develop through time and to overcome the different challenges each era of urban development presents. I know both long-time and new SimCity players will enjoy these innovative experiences in SimCity Creator starting this September!Ф

SimCity Creator for the DS and the Wii will be released on September 22.
