News: EA's CEO spills the beans.

Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello was recently interviewed by Conde Nast Portfolio and confirmed that an MMORPG based on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series is in the works.

Here's what Riccitiello had to say:

"And the one that people are dying for us to talk to them about -- in partnership with Lucas[Arts], coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it."

Does Riccitiello mean the oft rumored Knights of the Old Republic Online? "Yes," he said.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Online has been rumored to be in development for a long time and it's good to see confirmation, even if it's coming from a source not normally known for game news. Although, an interview in Conde Nast Portfolio with Activision CEO Bobby Kotick a few months back revealed the addition of drums and vocals to Guitar Hero 4 well before it was officially announced.
