News: And it will use the Wii MotionPlus.

EA Sports has announced they will be adding a tennis game to the EA Sports lineup in 2009. The game, which is currently untitled, will first be released only on the Wii. It will also be the first EA game that makes use of the Wii MotionPlus accessory. The Wii version is currently being developed by EA Canada, while versions for other platforms will be announced later.

УAs we look to expand the EA Sports brand and captivate sports fans from around the world with rich new interactive experiences, it was obvious that the renaissance we're seeing in the sport of tennis provides us with a big opportunity,Ф said Peter Moore, President, EA Sports. УOur new tennis franchise, coming first to the Wii, will put fans right into the action and provide the excitement, tension and drama that true champions feel in legendary matches Ц like the classic from Wimbledon just last month.Ф

The EA 2009 tennis game will also be the only tennis game that features Wimbledon and the All England Lawn Tennis Club as a venue. We'll have more soon.
