News: let's say there's "No Rain..."
Activision has announced a slew of songs that will be available to download for Guitar Hero: World Tour on October 30, the same week the game will ship to stores.
For the first time, Guitar Hero users will be able to download songs individually instead of in pre-determined song packs. However the packs will still be available as the REM Track Pack features three songs from the band's newest album, Accelerate, "Horse to Water," "Man-Sized Wreath" and "Supernatural Superserious." The REM pack will only be available on Xbox Live for the first two weeks after it's release, at which point it will be made available for PlayStation 3 users as well.
Next, the Classic Rock Track Pack offers "Rock and Roll Band" by Boston, "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner and "Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield.
Finally, Blind Melon's "No Rain" will be offered as a single outside of any pack.
All of these songs will be available to download (eventually) for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Earlier in the year, Activision promised that the Wii version would see downloadable content as well, but as of this announcement, they did not say when that would be.
