News: Well, not for everyone at the same time. Find out why inside.
The Xbox 360's fancy new user interface, the New Xbox Experience, and the Avatar character system that goes with it has gone live today. Microsoft is slowly rolling the new Dashboard out to Xbox 360 users but expects everyone should be able to download the new interface either today or tomorrow.
Two new Xbox Live Arcade titles have also been released today. A Kingdom For Keflings, from NinjaBee, makes use of player Avatars in a city building game while Biology Battle (a cute play on one of the most popular XBLA titles, Geometry Wars) puts players in a free roaming shooter as a "medical nanobot" attempting to clear away bad stuff on the inside of a cell. Biology Battle is also the first XBLA game created from the XNA initiative.
More on both games can be found below.
A Kingdom For Keflings
Rated E For Everyone
800 Microsoft Points
A Kingdom For Keflings is an innovative new city-building title from the studio that developed and published the award winning Band of Bugs, Outpost Kaloki X and Cloning Clyde. A Kingdom For Keflings features fun and light-hearted gameplay with stunning visuals and original music to match. The gameputs players in the shoes of their very own giant avatar who is personally helping a village of Keflings become a full city. Giants start out with a small village and a handful (literally!) of helpful Keflings who are small humanoids that follow the player's commands and try not to get stepped on. Each game is different as players customize their kingdom to their personal vision. The online multiplayer option allows up to four giants to build a kingdom cooperatively over Xbox Live Arcade.
Biology Battle
The game takes the best aspects of the "shmup" genre, including 360 degree movement and firing, and revolutionizes the action with a truly HD experience, so players can fight off an onslaught of enemies with precision and clarity. Biology Battle's full version includes single player modes and 10 brand new multiplayer versus games, including Turrets, Survival, Lasso, WireCycle, and Frog Hop. Also, the competitive players can compete online for the highest score.
