News: A sequel to EA's block breaking puzzler is coming soon.
Electronic Arts has announced they will be releasing a sequel to Boom Blox on the Wii this Spring titled Boom Blox Bash Party.
Bash Party will take everything that made Boom Blox a hit and crank it up a notch. The EA Casual Studios-developed game will include over 400 new levels, twice as many multiplayer challenges as its predecessor and a team-based multiplayer challenge mode. New tools (including cannon, paint ball and slingshot), new blox types (virus and conveyor), new blox shapes (such as cylinders and wedges) and new "wacky" blox characters round out the rest of the changes to the main game.
However, the biggest change comes in the Create Mode. The Create Mode has been expanded to include "the same tool set the EA development team used to create each and every level in the game." And with this new level of level creation control, EA is also giving budding game designers a chance to share their creation with the world through an online level sharing community. Players will be able to download these levels and rate them to show other members of the community which levels are worth your time. EA will also periodically post new levels for download as well, although it's currently unknown if they will be available for free or not.
"In Boom Blox Bash Party we are taking the game elements to the extreme,Ф said Amir Rahimi, Senior Producer. УIn the original Boom Blox, we really focused on perfecting the game's physics so now we can push the boundaries of physics, offering exciting new challenges and completely new ways to play.Ф
We'll have more soon.
