Explodemon

News: Another exploding man game coming from Curve Studios.

With 'Splosion Man just announced for the Xbox Live Arcade, another exploding man will go on a 2D side-scrolling adventure on the PlayStation 3, PC and Wii in Curve Studios' Explodemon.

Currently on track for a late 2009 release on the PC, PlayStation Network and WiiWare, Explodemon will mix the classic platforming of Mega Man (and a hero that looks a bit like Zero) with the "contemporary gameplay" of Halo and Half-Life 2. In the game, Explodemon will use his exploding body to combat enemies, propel himself through the air, destroy anything in his path and solve puzzles. "Badly translated dialogue" (like those found in games developed by Japanese companies in the 80s and 90s) will add an authentic feel to the Super NES-style of play.

Explodemon actually began life as a hobby project of Curve's Design Director, Jonathan Biddle. After working on the game for a few months he showed to a few co-workers at Curve and the rest is history. So much progress has been made from that prototype that, internally, Curve thinks of the game as "Explodemon II."

Curve has also posted a trailer of the game, which can be found right here:

We'll have more soon.
