News: Sony's John Koller refers to GT5 and its release on "all platforms."

VG247 talked to John Koller, SCEA's Director of Hardware Marketing, at this year's Game Developer's Conference where they cornered him about a possible release date for Gran Turismo 5.

Koller would not comment on a release date for the oft-delayed PS3 racing sim, instead saying that Polyphony Digital is a developer who makes a lot of their own decisions. However, he did mention that they were looking into releasing GT5 "across all platforms":

"But we are looking at GT5 across all platforms, just to see what makes the most sense."

This quote could refer to any number of possible games, including a downscaled version for the PS2 or a portable version for the PSP. Polyphony already has a version of Gran Turismo in development for the PSP, Gran Turismo 4 Mobile, which was first announced in 2004 and was last talked about at E3 08. At this point in time, it would be unsurprising if it morphed into Gran Turismo 5 Mobile by the time it's released.

Of course, there's also the possibility that Koller is referring to a dual release for Gran Turismo 5 across the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. That's a scary thought.

We'll have more soon.
