News: Radical's open world game also has a new website.
Activision has announced that Prototype, will be released on June 9. The open world game from Radical Entertainment (creators of another classic open world game, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction) will be available for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
If Prototype has slipped under your radar since it was first revealed a few years ago, Activision has provided a nice description of the game:
Prototyope lets gamers feel the power of being the ultimate shape-shifting weapon. You are the Prototyope: Alex Mercer - a genetically mutated man without memory, armed with amazing shape-shifting abilities, hunting to discover what created you and determined to make those responsible pay. As Alex, gamers tear through a densely populated contemporary New York City moving with Parkour-style fluidity, consuming anybody that gets in their way... assuming their physical form, memories and abilities. Fueled by a three-way war between Alex, the Blackwatch (military) and a viral outbreak known as the Infected, players venture into a deep, dark conspiracy 40 years in the making!
But if that doesn't convince you, Activision has also relaunched the game's official website at
PrototypeGame.com. They have added new videos and other content, including a look at the game's opening cinematic.
The videos make Alex Mercer look like Spider-Man on steroids. Seriously fantastic viewing. I am so excited for this game right now.
We'll have more soon.
