News: Another Festivus E3 miracle.
With Nintendo's E3 Press Conference taking place tomorrow, a few big surprises from the company were to be expected this week. But no one knew the surprises would begin today as the company has announced that Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (which was originally developed as a cell phone game in Japan) will be added to the Wii Shop Channel today. The game is a sequel to the Super NES classic Final Fantasy IV, which was released in 1991 as Final Fantasy II. Owing to the original's roots, The After Years is done in a 16-bit style that will feel very familar to fans.
Other Nintendo downloads on offer this week include:
Mighty Flip Champs!, a DSiWare title developed by WayForward Technologies, the team responsible for the awesome Contra 4.
Texas Hold'em Tournament (WiiWare), a poker game with online play and Mii support.
Boulder Dash, a Virtual Console title that was originally released on the Commodore 64.
More on all of these games can be found below.

He must dig through caves to collect diamonds while avoiding various types of dangerous creatures and obstacles such as falling rocks. He is in constant danger of being crushed or trapped by an avalanche or killed by an underground explosion. Strategy and planning are the keys to mastering Boulder Dash. Once enough jewels have been collected, the door to the mysterious escape tunnel is revealed and Rockford can explore another cave.
