News: It will be M-rated says Noob Saibot's backwards-talking namesake.

Ed Boon's Twitter account is once again ablaze with information about Mortal Kombat 9. Midway Chicago is hard at work on the next iteration of the famed fighting series with Boon confirming that motion capture work on "sick" special moves and Fatalities took place yesterday. He also reassured fans that the next Mortal Kombat game would be Mature-rated, even though the last game in the series, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, was released with a Teen rating. Finally, he revealed the team is still undecided as to whether minigames (i.e. Test Your Might and Kombat Chess) would be included in the game.

Here are Boon's tweets on the subject, in all their glory (and of course, in under 140 characters)...

noobde (Ed Boon): Motion capturing special moves & fatalities today....they are kind of sick !! 2:03 PM Jun 18th

noobde (Ed Boon): Carlos & Rick O. doin some kool fatalities. I hope we aren't taking these too far. :( 4:01 PM Jun 18th

McCarron: @noobde If you are not sure if you are taking them too far, that means you can go further. 4:03 PM Jun 18th

noobde (Ed Boon): @McCarron U r absolutely right. People want an M-rated MK....dammit we will give them an M-rated MK. 5:08 PM Jun 18th

Major_kenny: @noobde Will you include mini-games (like test your might/chess kombat) in MK9 or you haven't thought about it? about 8 hours ago

noobde (Ed Boon): Haven't decided yet.

We'll have more soon.
