News: Sony better invest in a printing press for all that money they're making.
Sony has passed along the word to Gamasutra that 100,000 copies of the PSone Classic Final Fantasy VII have been downloaded from the PlayStation Store since its release on June 2. At $9.99 a pop, the game has generated quite a chunk of change for Sony and Square-Enix in a little less than three weeks. The game, which has been called the greatest RPG of all-time, is playable on both the PlayStation 3 and the PSP.
The Gamsutra report also included confirmation that Sony plans to bring "dozens" of additional PSone Classics to the PlayStation Store by the end of the year. Among them will be Wild Arms 2, Mobile Light Force and Special Ops: Stealth Patrol.
We'll have more soon.
